On April 12, 2021, the 5^th Faculty and Trade Union Congress of the College of Pastoral Agriculture Science and Technology of Lanzhou Universitywas convened at the academic hall on the fourth floor in Biye Building. Members of the party policy of the college, Teachers’ Congress representatives, workers and employees’ congress representatives and specially invited retired representatives participated in the congress. The congress is presided over by Tan Lingling, the Deputy Secretary of CPC of the college.

Professor Li Chunjie, the Dean of the college made the college work report, reviewed new progress achieved by the college in comprehensively strengthening the leadership by the Party, team construction, talent training, scientific research, platform construction, social service, exchange and cooperation at home and abroad and other aspects in 2020, searched and summarized the existing problems in the fifth round of discipline and professional degrees appraisal, making the key working ideas in 2021 clear.

The congress heard Comrade Fan Chengyong’s report about the annual financial work in 2020 and annual financial budget in 2021, Comrade Wang Xuan’s annual work about in 2020 of the Labor Union of the college, Comrade Chai Qi’s annual financial work report in 2020 of the Labor Union of the college respectively.

Meanwhile, the congress heard the performance-based salary distribution approach introduced by Fan Chengyong, Personnel Management Measures of Lanzhou University, amendment of Administrative Provisions for Staff Attendance in Lanzhou University, Graduate Degree Awarding Standards in Lanzhou University and Management Measures of Research Supervisors in Lanzhou University introduced by Liu Zhipeng, annual scientific research objectives acquisition list and postgraduate training objectives acquisition list in 2021, Postgraduate Admissions and Quota Allocation Measures, teaching objectives acquisition list in 2021 and recent undergraduate teaching work arrangement introduced by Yue Xiangpeng, Postgraduate Scholarship Judgment Measures (Revised) introduced by Tan Lingling.

All the representatives present at the congress were divided into 4 groups to have group discussions about all congress contents. At the spot, the discussion was heated, with a serious and earnest atmosphere. It fully showed the sense of responsibility and mission of representatives as the masters. The representatives have centered on the development of the college, combined their actual work, talked freely and proposed constructive suggestions and recommendations.

The congress heard four group leaders’ reports of the discussion situation by Zhang Jinlin, Liu Quan, Xie Wengang and Yue Xiangpeng. 22 pieces of suggestions from the representatives were summarized and sorted out.

In his concluding speech, Zhang Dawei, secretary of the Party Committee of the College, stressed that the outstanding achievements of the College in talents training, scientific research, social services, team construction, management services and other aspects cannot be separated from the hard work of all faculty members. Combining the congratulatory letter from General Secretary Xi Jinping to the 100th anniversary of the founding of Xiamen University and the contents of Academician Ren Jizhou’s first open application form for Party membership, he hoped that all faculty members would firmly establish the “consciousness in four aspects (to maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, follow the leadership core, and keep in alignment)” with fuller enthusiasm. Strengthen the “confidence in four aspects (confidence in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics)”. He hoped that they can take the study and education of the Party’s history as an opportunity, take the discipline construction and college development as their responsibility and take the two old academician party members as models. It is needed to focus on the foundation of “fostering character and civic virtue”, be full of confidence and continue to struggle, and comprehensively promote the continuous development of various undertakings of the college. In the new era, new accomplishments and achievements should be made as well, and it is necessary to strive to make a good opening to the 14^th Five-Year Plan, contribute wisdom to the reform and development of the college and make new contributions to celebrate the founding of the party for 100 years.
