On September 16-18,2019, Guangzheng Wang and her husband Liangsun Feng, daughter of Dong Wang, the founder of modern grassland science in China, were invited to visit Lanzhou University.

  During the visit, Ms. Guangzheng Wang and her entourage attended the 110th Anniversary Commemorative Meeting of Lanzhou University and the Inaugural Meeting of the Branch of the College of Pastoral Agriculture Science and Technology of Lanzhou University Alumni Association. Vice President of Lanzhou University Baotian Pan, College of Pastoral Agricultural Science and Technology Academician Zhibiao Nan, Party Secretary Dawei Zhang, Dean Fujiang Hou and Departmental Counselor Xiaoyun Lei met with them. The school gifted them a book entitled “Wang Dong Biography - Life” edited by Lanzhou University Grass History Museum and College of Pastoral Agricultural Science and Technology.

  In the speech of the inaugural meeting of the Alumni Association, Academician Zhibiao Nan thanked Guangzheng Wang and Liangsun Feng for their support to the College of Pastoral Agriculture Science and Technology of Lanzhou University and the came to Lanzhou to attend the event. He also thanked Mr. Dong Wang for his great dedication to the scientific development of grassland in China and the inheritance and development of grassroots from generation to generation.

  Accompanied by Chengyong Fan, deputy dean of the College of Pastoral Agricultural Science and Technology, Ms. Guangzheng Wang visited the Lanzhou University campus, archives and the decorated grass history museum, and then she talked with Yan Chen, deputy director of the archives. Yan Chen introduced the progress the Grass Industry History Museum, and she presented Ms. Wang with “My Lanzhou University - Interviews with People” “My Lanzhou University - Poetry and Prose Collection” “ Selected Collection of Professor Deshan Liu, Shadow Puppet” and some other books. Ms. Guangzheng Wang presented the book “ Dong Wang Biography - Life” to the Lanzhou University Grass History Museum.

  Ms. Guangzheng Wang thanked the leaders, archives and College of Pastoral Agricultural Science and Technology of Lanzhou University for their great attention and their efficient and safekeeping to the historical materials of Mr. Dong Wang. The Archives vacates nearly 400 square meters for the decoration and exhibition of the grass industry history museum which will give full play to the role and value of historical materials.

  On September 25, 2016, on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of Mr.Dong Wang’s birth, the donation ceremony of the Grass Industry History Museum and Mr.Dong Wang’s historical materials donation ceremony was held in Lanzhou University. Lanzhou University Party Secretary Zhanting Yuan, Vice President Lizhe An and Academician Jizhou Ren of the College of Pastoral Agriculture Science and Technology attended the ceremony. Ms. Guangzheng Wang donated her father’s precious historical materials to the archives of Lanzhou University.

  From September 2016 to July 2018, the archives of Lanzhou University organized and repaired the historical materials of Mr. Dong Wang and carved them into CDs.

  On July 31st , 2018, Xianyun Lei, Party Secretary of the College of Pastoral Agricultural Science and Technology of Lanzhou University and the Vice President Chengyong Fan went to Nanjing to meet the second batch: two drafts of “Prairie Management” and “Theory and Implementation of Grassland Rotation” and the speech “Forage and Grassland Management”.

  On September 16, 2018, the 2018 Annual Meeting of the Chinese Grass Society Agricultural Ethics Research Association and Mr.Dong Wang’s Cultural Relics Documents Exhibition were held at Lanzhou University. Zhanting Yuan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Lanzhou University, Academician Jizhou Ren and Academician Zhibiao Nan of the College of Pastoral Agricultural Science and Technology met with Ms.Guangzheng Wang and Ms. Zhu Feng. The archives curator Wenjiang Chen awarded the Mr.Dong Wang’s important cultural relic donation certificate to Ms. Guangzheng Wang.

  Mr.Dong Wang’s family donated two historical materials and relics, including Mr. Dong Wang’s monograph manuscripts and published books, foreign language dictionaries, foreign language books, photo albums, used articles, and clothes that passed through, for a total of 104 kinds (pieces). They are permanently preserved by the Lanzhou University Grass History Museum.

  In July 2019, the Lanzhou University Archives expanded and decorated the Grass Industry History Museum with an exhibition area of nearly 400 square meter. At the same time, College of Pastoral Agriculture Science and Technology of Lanzhou University is collecting historical materials from the grassland for the whole country.

  Lanzhou University will continue to collect and excavate the historical materials of the grass industry, enrich and use the collections, promote the academic spirit of grass scientists and educators, inherit and develop the academic ideas of grassland agricultural systems and make new contributions to the scientific development of the national grass industry.
