On the morning of June 13, at the invitation of Director Zhang Xuchen of the Forestry and Grassland Administration of Gansu Province, Academician Nan Zhibiao delivered a presentation titled “Full understanding, rational use of grassland in protection and development of grassland industry-a concurrent discussion of grassland industry development and dual carbon target in Gansu Province” for the “Special Training Course on Forest Chief Reform” in Zugong Building. The seminar was chaired by Deputy Director Tian Baohua of the Forestry and Grassland Administration of Gansu Province. Nearly 50 attendees, including those in charge of provincial agencies and deputy municipal (prefecture) heads in charge of forestry and grass, were at the seminar as training participants. In the two-and-a-half hour presentation, Academician Nan gave a systematic and detailed explanation of the concept of grassland, the relationship between mountains, rivers, forests, fields, lakes, grass and sand, the ecological service value of grassland and its role in the dual carbon task. He too proposed suggestions for the development of grassland industry and the realization of the dual carbon target in Gansu Province based on the actual situation.
