Li Wenlong

Prof. Wenlong Li is principal member of the Institute of Remote Sensing and Grassland Information Management, College of Pastoral Agriculture Science and Technology, State Key Laboratory of Grassland Agro-ecosystems, Lanzhou University. He obtained his PhD (2005) in Lanzhou University, China, and had worked in Lanzhou University where he has remained successively as an assistant, lecturer, associate Professor and Professor. He had been to the TTU(Texas Tech University), UTSA(University of Texas at San Antonio) and UNL(University of Nebraska-Lincoln) as a visiting scholar around 3 years, and School of Resources and Environment in UTSA as a postdoctoral fellow. He had been a visiting Professor to work at Department of Geography and Planning, University of Saskatchewan, Canada for 1 months.

Prof. Li has been elected as the New Century Excellent Talents in University from the Ministry of Education of China (2010) and the "10 Great teachers" in Lanzhou Univ. (2006), and has received important academic ID, awards and honors, including the member of Bio-Vision(2008),ESA (2010, 2017) and AGU(2010,2018); the international academic journals contributed reviewer of Remote sensing, Canadian Remote Sensing Journal, Ecological Research, Ecological modeling, and Agricultural water management etc. Meanwhile,  he has got the 3rd prize of Natural Science in Gansu Province (2005,2009) and 3rd prize of Science and Technology Progress of Gansu Province (2010) etc. 

Currently Prof. Li’s main research interests concern the monitoring and analyzing ecological security, ecological risk, ecological health of grassland;  grassland ecosystem and environ-mental changes; sustainable development and management of grassland; ecological modeling and GIS/RS tech utilization; and the field crop agro-ecology experiment and data analysis.
