Prof. Huimin Yang is a faculty of the State Key Laboratory of Grassland Agro-ecosystems and College of Pastoral Agriculture Science and Technology, Lanzhou University. He obtained his PhD at Lanzhou University, China in 2004 and visited the Department of Biology at Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong SAR, China as a postdoctoral fellow during 2014–2015. After he returned, he started to work in the College of Pastoral Agriculture Science and Technology at Lanzhou University as an associate and full Professor. In 2006, he visited the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Adelaide, Australia for one and a half month. During 2009-2010, he visited the Department of Biology at Duke University, USA as a visiting scholar for one year.

Prof. Yang has been elected as the Young Scholar of the Distinguished Feitian Scholar Program of Gansu Province (2016) and has been included in the Forage Production and Processing Committee of Chinese Grassland Society (2014). He has awarded with the first prize of the Progress Award in Science and Technology of Gansu Province (2011).

Currently, the research interests of Prof. Yang’s group focus on leaf trait, nutrient internal cycling and stress physiology of forage crops. He has published over 80 scientific papers, some of which were included in Nature, Plant & Soil, Biology & Fertility of Soils, Frontiers in Plant Science and Plant Science, etc.
