Zeng Yanjun

Associate Prof. Yanjun Zeng is a member of the Institute of Herbaceous Plant Breeding and Seed Science and Technology, College of Pastoral Agriculture Science and Technology, Lanzhou University; Lanzhou Herbage Seed Testing Centre, Ministry of Agriculture China; State Key Laboratory of Grassland Agro-ecosystems, Lanzhou University. Mr. Zeng obtained his PhD in 2010 in Lanzhou University, China, and had worked in Lanzhou University where he has remained successively as a lecturer, associate professor. He had visited the Seed Science Lab at School of Life and Art Sciences, University of Kentucky, USA as a visiting scholar for one year.

Associate Prof. Zeng has received the first prize of Science and Technology advancement of ChuMu Ting in Gansu Province, in 1991; the second prize of Science and technology advancement of ChuMu Ting in Gansu Province, in 1992; the third prize of Science and technology advancement of Ministry of Agriculture China, in 1997. He was entitled ‘Outstanding Class Teacher of Lanzhou University, 2014-2015’ in 2016.

Currently, associate Prof. Zeng maintains research projects on plant propagation ecology, seed physiology and ecology, soil seed bank, collections and researches of germplasm in herbaceous plants and shrubs especially in halophytes and xerophytes, restoration and reconstruction of degraded vegetation. Also, associate Prof. Zeng put a lot of enthusiasm in programs seed marketing and quality control involved. He has published over 36 papers in international and Chinese journals including Seed Science and Technology, Journal of Arid Environments, South African Journal of Botany, Acta Ecologica Sinica, Chinese Journal of applied Ecology, Acta Prataculturae Sinica, Journal of Desert Research, and Pratacultural science, etc.
