CPAST has a complete educational and research system that includes a post-doctoral research center for grassland science, doctoral programs in the first-level discipline of grassland science and animal husbandry, doctoral programs in the second-level discipline of animal nutrition and feed sciences, master programs in the first-level discipline of crop science and plant protection, master programs in the second-level discipline of grassland geographic information system, grassland plant nutrition biology, turfgrass biology, and agricultural economics and management. The college also offers agricultural extension master programs. As the key discipline and educational base in Gansu Province, grassland science in CPAST has formed a comprehensive discipline cluster to support the development of this research area. 

Currently, the college has 36doctoral supervisors, 78 master supervisors, 169 doctoral students and 462 master students.
