The Fourth "Silk Road Economic Belt" National Grass Science Practice Skills Competition and Summer Camp Activities for College Students were Successfully Held

June 7th to 10th, the fourth "Silk Road Economic Belt" National College students Grass Science practice skills Competition and College students Summer Camp activities were held in our school.From Anhui Agricultural University, Northeast Forestry University, Gansu Agricultural University, Guizhou University, Heilongjiang Bayi Agricultural Reclamation University, Jilin Agricultural University, Lanzhou University, Inner Mongolia University for nationalities, Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, Ningxia University, Shandong Agricultural University, Shanxi University of Finance and Economics, Shanxi Agricultural University, Sichuan Agricultural University, Xi'an University of Finance and Economics, Northwest University of Agriculture and Forestry Science and Technology, Xinjiang Agricultural University, Yangzhou University, Forty undergraduates from 19 universities, including Yunnan Agricultural University, took part in the event.

On the morning of June 8, the event kicked off in the lecture hall on the fourth floor of Biye Building, College of Pastoral Agricultural Science and Technology. Zhibiao Nan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Haoli Zhang, director of the admissions office of Lanzhou University Graduate School, Zhenfeng Qiao, deputy director of the academic Affairs Office, and representatives of leading groups and mentors of the Academy of Pastoral Agricultural Science and Technology attended the opening ceremony.The opening ceremony was presided over by  Dawei Zhang, party committee secretary of the College of Pastoral Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology.

At the opening ceremony, President Fujiang Hou delivered a welcoming speech. He extended a warm welcome to the students from various brotherly colleges and universities at home and abroad. He welcomed them to the event.He stressed that the scientific spirit of rigorous realism and courage to explore is the necessary basic accomplishment for every Pastoral student. He earnestly hopes that students can experience it attentively, open communication, and feel the far-reaching knowledge of Pastoral industry and the essence of Pastoral culture in practical operation.Deputy Director Zhenfeng Qiao extended a warm welcome to all the participating students. He said that after more than 30 years of development, Lanzhou University's grass science has achieved fruitful results and led the development of grass science in China. It is hoped that students can feel it carefully and gain more knowledge in practice.Professor Haoli Zhang, through the omni-directional explanation of the postgraduates' promotion, enrollment and award and assistance of Lanzhou University, makes the students have a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of Lanzhou University, and welcomes the students to actively exclude or apply for the graduate students of Lanzhou University and sprinkle their sweat here.

Vice President Yuying Shen introduced the arrangement of the event. Xuechun Bai, a classmate of Northwest University of Agriculture and Forestry Science and Technology, made a speech on behalf of the participating students.

At the opening ceremony, Academician Zhibiao Nan made a wonderful speech. He expressed his fervent expectations and instructions of the students with three welcomes.First of all, he welcomed the students to engage in grass science research. He talked about the development of modern grass science from thousands of years of farming culture in China, and analyzed the importance of the development of modern grass science. It is the responsibility and obligation of every grass science to engage in grass science research and exploration.Then he welcomed the students to Gansu. From the angles of geomorphology, climate characteristics, plant classification, historical development and so on, he concluded that Gansu is a museum of natural grassland, which has unique geographical advantages and is the best choice for Pastoral science researchers.Finally, he welcomed the students to Lanzhou University for further study. He said: Lanzhou University is a collective of unity and hard work, and any difficulties and adversity can be overcome. Students will get more opportunities and opportunities when they come here for further study.

During the three-day activity, Professor Saman Bowtte, a foreign teacher of soil microbiology, made a special report. Professor, Saman Bowtte told his students that scientific research requires strong perseverance and unremitting efforts in order to succeed.

During the activities, the students listened attentively to the introduction of subjects and teams by Professor Xiaowen Hu, Jianxiao Zhu, Associate Professor Hucheng Wang, Associate Professor Decao Niu and Associate Professor Zikui Wang; visited the intelligent greenhouse of the State key Laboratory and College; participated in the written examination of experimental knowledge of Pastoral science; and went to Yuzhong Campus to hold a practical operation competition at the National Experimental Teaching Center of Grass Science in Helantang. We visited the Xiahe Alpine Pastoral Experimental Base in Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture and experienced Pastoral culture.

On the afternoon of June 9th, the closing ceremony of the event was held in Xiahe Sangke Pastoral in Gannan.The closing speech delivered by Associate Professor Yingwen Yu fully affirmed the effect of the activities and the good performance of the students.Mr. Binhua Yu and Mr. Yan Zhang presented awards and took pictures of the award-winning students. The students in the competition shared the results of the competition and exchanged their feelings of the activities.The activity ended with laughter and harvest.

Small grass but big world, practice figures out the true knowledge.Let's look forward to the fifth competition, national grass industry students work together to write a new movement.

 Hongrong Zhang, Lijun Yue, Shujuan Wu, Lijun Gu, Qian Yang, Xiuxiu Weng, Yajie Liu, Li Wei,  Guang Wei and other teachers carefully organized and prepared laboratory operation links and served as judges.
